FUTURE VISION

Building upon its founding objectives, the Hong Kong Association for External Friendship envisions becoming an influential platform for international people-to-people civil diplomacy—leveraging Hong Kong’s unique role as a “super connector” to bridge China and the world, and to promote peace, cooperation, and sustainable development.

In the future, we envision:

  1. To facilitate Hong Kong as the Friendship City of the World
    The Association will serve as a leading force in fostering people-to-people connections between Hong Kong, Mainland and the international community, advancing deep mutual understanding and trust, and positioning Hong Kong as a global hub for long-lasting friendship and open dialogues.

  2. Promoting Cultural Integration and Social Inclusion
    By fostering interaction between ethnic minority communities and the broader society, we will contribute to a more diverse, equal, and respectful Hong Kong and showcase a successful model of “unity in diversity” to the world.

  3. Building a Lasting Global Network Rooted in Genuine People-to-People Bonds
    Beyond hosting events, we will focus on cultivating deep, long-term relationships based on mutual respect and understanding—turning the vision of “people connected, hearts united” into a global reality.

Through this vision, the Hong Kong Association for External Friendship will not only serve local communities but also emerge as a vital civil force in shaping Hong Kong’s international engagement, advancing peaceful development, and telling China’s story well on the global stage.
